Mary Lou Whaley Brock, 82, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Vidant Duplin Hospital, Kenansville, NC. Mrs. Brock was born January 30, 1938 in Onslow County, NC to the late John Herman Whaley and Ella Ellen Williams Whaley.
A memorial service will be held 2:00p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Friendship United Methodist Church, Warsaw, NC. Mary Lou is survived by daughters, Shelia Lewis and Greg Hughes and Sara White and husband, Rex all of Warsaw; five grandchildren, Jonathan White, Cody White, Leah Brock, Lydia Travis, Kaitlin Lewis; ten great grandchildren, Lilliana White, Gavin Lee White, Morgan White, Joshua Jamie Ty Sauls, Matilda Travis, Myra Travis, Patrick Travis, Annia Beth Travis, Scout Travis, and Cody Hughes and sister, Betty Wallace of Albertson and Lottie Houston of Kenansville. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by husband, Odell Brock; son, Johnnie Lee Brock; grandson, Jamie Lewis; brothers, Nathan and Ben Whaley, and sisters, Naomi McCorkindale, Evelyn Hull, Lucille Burns, and Alice Baker.

Pin Hook – Geraldine Chestnutt Henderson Sholar, 79, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Sholar was born July 31, 1941 in Duplin County, NC to the late Clement Jack Chestnutt and Macy Blizzard Chestnutt.
Mrs. Sholar is survived by her husband, Braxton Lawton Sholar of the home; sons, Elvin Dale Henderson and wife, Mary of Texas, Scott Henderson and wife, Barbara of Wallace, Christopher Joseph Henderson and wife, Maylene of Dunn; daughter-in-law, Susan Henderson of Dunn; son-in-law, Larry Jones of Dunn; step-sons, J B Sholar and wife, Linda of Hallsville, Robert Sholar and wife, Wanda Mobley; step-daughters, Linda S. Stewart and husband, Danny, Donna S. Albertson and husband, Kent of Beulaville, Carol S. Davis and husband, Leon of Wallace; sisters Annette Gurley of Goldsboro and Frances Mitchell and husband, Thomas of Harrells. She is also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren, fifty-four great grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents Mrs. Sholar was preceded in death by husband, Ivey Elvin Henderson; son, Kenny Henderson, and daughter, Sheran Dean Jones. A graveside service will be held 11:00a.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Devotional Gardens in Warsaw, NC. Kenansville-Ruth Bishop Houston, 90, of Kenansville passed away December 21, 2020 at Autumn Village of Beulaville. Mrs. Houston was born in Duplin County September 20, 1930 to the late Herman Bishop and Julie Rhodes Bishop.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Devotional Gardens of Warsaw. Mrs. Houston is survived by son, Mike Houston of Kenansville; daughter, Rhonda H. Owen and husband, Billy of Benson; grandchildren, Brittany Gettys and husband, Jordan, Chance Houston and Shalon Roberson and husband, Addam; great grandchildren, Emery Gettys, Nora Gettys Owen Roberson, Taylor Roberson and Bogdan Roberson; brother, Ray Bishop of Mt. Olive; sister Rose Brock of Smithfield; In addition to her parents, Mrs. Houston was preceded in death by husband, Oscar Alois Houston; brothers, Hubert, Haylon, Hilburn and Chancy Bishop; sisters Atlaleen Jones, Doris Carroll and Marie Andrews. Charlie Ingold, of Wilmington, NC, died Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in Winston Salem, NC with his family by his side.
Charlie was born in Wilmington to the late Martha Cooper and William F. Ingold. He graduated from New Hanover High School and in 1981 from University of North Carolina Wilmington with a degree in Recreation. While attending UNCW, he was goalie for the soccer team and ranked 2nd in all time saves and saves per game. He became a carpenter and worked for the movie studio in Wilmington from 1984 to 2014. He worked on numerous movies with his name in the credits on several. Six years ago, Charlie almost left us with acute aortic dissection. Thankfully, God chose to allow us to keep him, for which we have been so grateful. Charlie has lived his life to the max these last few years. With the loss of all but a little of his vision, he adapted with the help of his wife Kay, family, and his amazing friends. He continued with fishing, hunting, and attempts at golf. He loved his family, friends, good stories, jokes, laughter, and always sports -Go Heels- and the occasional cocktail! He is survived by Kay, his wife of 31 years, sons Jason and Joshua (Sarah), grandsons Andrew and Cameron (Nicki, their mom), brother Alan (Toni), sister Laura, and brother-in-law Bill (Carol). Charlie is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and those amazing friends. Kenansville-Fannie Lee Kearns Jernigan Quinn, 90, of Kenansville passed away Friday, December 11, 202 at her home. Mrs. Quinn was born January 19, 1930 in Duplin County to the late Thomas Edward Kearns and Magdalene Hall Kearns.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw. A visitation will be held at 10:00am prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Devotional Gardens. Mrs. Quinn is survived by son, Mike Jernigan and wife Dora of Warsaw; daughter, Sally Smith and husband, Allen of Warsaw; brother, Tommy Kearns and wife, Cathy of Kenansville; sister Edna Galliera of St. Pauls; grandchildren Angie Smith, Chris Jernigan and wife, Katie, and Allen Smith, Jr.; great grandchildren Bella Jernigan, Hogan Jernigan and Maggie Smith. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Quinn was preceded in death by husbands, James Morris Jernigan and Franklin Quinn. |
