Magnolia - John Tracy Brown, 76, of Magnolia passed away at his home on Wednesday evening, October 21, 2020. Mr. Brown was born in Duplin County September 11, 1944 to the late Eldon Etheridge Brown and Annie Lorene Matthis Brown. Mr. Brown was a Ham Radio enthusiast and was the youngest licensed Ham Radio operator in the state. He was also a Mason. In his adult life John operated Marine Communications and Electronics which serviced industrial ships.
Mr. Brown leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Marjorie Pugh Brown of Rose Hill; daughters, Tracy B. Crawford and husband, Billy of Nashville, TN and Susan Brown and husband, Peter Liao of Chapel Hill; brother, Eldon Etheridge Brown, Jr. and wife, Dorothy of Beulaville; sister, Margaret Ann Rivenbark and husband, George of Wallace; grandchildren, Will, John and Ben Crawford and Jack and Sara Liao. Services are pending and will be posted as soon as finalized.

Ava Raye Pate Boone, 81, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Parish Family Care Home of Warsaw. Mrs. Boone was born November 17, 1938 in Duplin County, NC to the late Major Franklin Pate and Mary Summerlin Pate. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 21, at Warsaw Free Will Holiness Church, with burial to follow in Pate Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Mrs. Boone is survived by two daughters, Anita Johnson and husband, David of Rose Hill, Betty Sanderson and husband, Andy of Warsaw; four grandchildren, Cynthia Blackmore (JD), Amanda Burch (Alex), Tracey Johnson (Anthony) and Harley Loomis (AJ); four great grandchildren, Ryker Burch, Case Loomis, John Edward “JEB” Blackmore and Landon Kennedy; three step daughters; six step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; sister, Janie Tarry (Dave) of Turkey; Robert Pate (Annelle) of Smithfield and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special daughter, Jennie Wallace of Clinton and special grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jennifer Daw, Joseph Daw (Brandy), James Young, Jaden Turlington, and Avaona Turlington. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boone was preceded in death by husband, Raymond Boone, several brothers and sister, step grandson, Dallas Foss, and mother-in-law and best friend, Rachel Boone. New Jersey - Billie Revelle Ursano died Sunday, October 10 at her residence in Morristown, New Jersey.
Born December 21, 1930 to Annie Lou Davis and Fred Revelle in Warsaw, North Carolina Billie was a vibrant personality in her large, extended family in which she learned her love for singing and dancing. After studying at Campbell College, and teaching modeling and etiquette, Billie moved to Los Angeles to pursue modeling and acting where she signed with Paramount Studio. In California, Billie married Antonio (Nino) Ursano and following Nino’s career with AT&T lived in North Carolina, New Jersey, London, Milan and Hilton Head. She remained an avid tennis player into her 80s. Billie is survived by her son Tony Ursano, granddaughters Annabella and Georgiana, sister Faye Rogers, nephews Rick and Tim Rogers and many cousins, grand nieces and grand nephews. There will be a grave site ceremony at Pinecrest Cemetery, Tuesday, October 20 at 11am. Eric Thomas Powers, 62, passed away October 4, 2020 at his home in Clinton, NC. Mr. Powers was born August 14, 1958 in Richmond County, NC to Elmer Thomas and Annie Ellen McKay Powers.

Darrell Keith Fussell, 63, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center in Bolivia, NC. Mr. Fussell was born November 11, 1956 in Duplin County, NC to Ossie Mac Fussell Combs and the late Elbert Alexander Fussell. Mr. Fussell is survived by his wife, Sarah M. Fussell of Southport; sons, Elbert Keith Fussell and wife, Sharon of Wilmington and Dustin Eugene Fussell and wife, Melissa of Durham; daughter, Jennifer F. Valley and husband, Brandon of Rocky Point; and seven grandchildren, Kasey Fussell, Carter Fussell, Madeline Fussell, James Valley, Carter Valley, Ruby Valley, and Annica Valley. He is also survived by his mother, Ossie Mac Fussell Combs of AZ; brother, Elbert Kraig Fussell of Warsaw; and sisters, Kelly Garrett and husband, Reggie and Kim McLaurin all of Fayetteville. A memorial service will be held 2:00p.m., Saturday, October 3, 2020 in Community Funeral Home Chapel, Warsaw, NC. Visitation will follow the memorial service.
