Magnolia - Sallie Jenkins Cruse, 91, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Cruse was born May 6, 1930 in Duplin County, NC to the late James "Jimmy" and Aaron Joyner Jenkins.
A funeral service will be held 6:00p.m., Friday, July 30, 2021 in Community Funeral Home Chapel in Warsaw, with visitation to follow the service. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday in Devotional Gardens, Warsaw, NC. Mrs. Cruse is survived by sons, Jesse Cruse and wife, Linda of Boiling Springs Lake, Bobby Cruse of Ayden, Paul Cruse of Tarboro, Billy Jo Dunn of Clinton; daughters, Rachel Kennedy of Warsaw, Kay Simmons of Magnolia, Arlene Bowen of Rose Hill, Darlene Howard and husband, Billy of Magnolia, Kathy Turner and husband, Donnie of Turkey; 25 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cruse was preceded in death by husband, William Junior Cruse; son, Donald Crews; son-in-law, Rayford Kennedy, daughter-in-law, Dorothy Cruse; grandchildren, Jennifer Price and Jonathan Cruse; three brothers and five sisters. Turkey - Daniel “Buddy” Richard Kornegay, Jr., 79, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at his home. Mr. Kornegay was born June 17, 1942 in Duplin County to the late Daniel Richard Kornegay and Beulah Summerlin Kornegay.
A graveside service will be held 3:00pm, Thursday, July 22, 2021 in Devotional Gardens, Warsaw, NC. Mr. Kornegay is survived by wife, Nancy Smith Kornegay of the home; son, Delbert Kornegay and wife, Donna Faulkner Kornegay; daughter, Lora K. Holland and husband, Robert; step-daughter, Eileen Smith; grandchildren, Everal Link, Emma Shelbie Kornegay, and Rebecca Kornegay Jordan; great grandchildren, Kylee Carter, Toby Shine Holland, Cameron Kinnaman and Allison Carlson. He is also survived by brother, John Kornegay and sisters, Clara Lee Padgett, Dealie Langston, Eva Lockamy, Joyce Stallings, and Kathy Pike. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kornegay was preceded in death by wife, Willa Jean Kornegay and grandson, Richard Holland. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to: West Duplin FWB Church, 987 NC 24 and 50 Hwy, Warsaw, NC 28398. Libby Lou Jones Kornegay, 67, of Magnolia passed away suddenly Monday, June 28, 2021. Libby was born in July 12, 1953 to the late Lewis Clemmeth Jones and Effla Lanier Jones.
Libby was a very generous person, a good cook and a great patriot. Libby loved her little dog, Bubba almost as much as her sweets like the old timey fudge she always made. She loved dragonflies, playing piano and was always ready for that trip to the mountains. Libby loved and was greatly loved by her children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 11:00am, Tuesday, July 6, in Community Funeral Home Chapel in Warsaw, NC. Visitation will begin at 10am at the funeral home. She is survived by her significant other Gene Bryant; daughters Laura Lee and husband, Michael, Jennifer Kornegay, and Rachel Powell all of Warsaw; brothers, Paul Jones, Terry Jones, Casey Jones all of Wallace, Mark Jones of Turkey; sisters Carol Padgett and Shelby Cayton of Jacksonville, and Doris Blake of Holly Ridge; grandchildren, Johnny Wayne Davis, Joshua Lee, Christopher Lee and wife, Megan, Jenny Minott, Salem Kornegay, Andrew Kornegay, Johnny Franklin Powell, Wynston Kornegay, William Powell, and Harley Powell; great grandchildren, Emily Davis and Nora Davis. |
