Warsaw - Ren Reid Smith James, 87, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Rex Hospital. Mrs. James was born November 28, 1931 in Duplin County, NC to Arthur Robert Smith and Trecy Mozingo Smith.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2018 in Community Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation following the service. There will be a private family burial. Mrs. James is survived by sons, Donald James and wife, Darlene and Melvin W. James and special friend, Janice all of Warsaw; sisters, Evelyn Johnson of Warsaw and Christine Smith of Zebulon; sister-in-law, Martha James of Wilmington. She was also survived by four grandchildren, Melvin W. James II and wife, Hannah, Trecinda James Kinsey and husband, Darrell, Stephen Daniel James, and Jessica James Whitman and husband, Eric and seven great grandchildren, Taylor Avery James, Olivia Madison James, Isabella Grace James, Aaron Lee Kinsey, Michael Lee Kinsey, Emma Joy Kinsey, Renlea Elizabeth Whitman. In addition to her parents, Mrs. James was preceded in death by husband, Norwood James and two sisters, Dora Andrews, Dorothy Nichols. Warsaw - Fannie Powell Harris Montgomery, 102, passed away on December 23, 2018 at Mary Gran Nursing Home in Clinton, NC.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw, burial will follow in Devotional Gardens. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. She is survived by her son, James (Jim) Harris and wife, Odette; daughter-in-law, Betty M. Harris; seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husbands, Clarence Harris and Robert Montgomery, her son, Clarence Melvin (Mel) Harris, parents, Remus and Malissie Powell and a granddaughter, Sharon Young, seven brothers, and one sister. Warsaw - Amber Danielle Jones Sharek, 33, passed away early Friday, December 21, 2018. Mrs. Sharek was born January 23, 1985 in Wayne County to Michael Edwards Jones and Tamatha “Tammy” Lynn Pollard Gurley.
Mrs. Sharek is survived by three sons, Talon Michael Jones, Logan Williams Sharek and Brayden Gage Sharek all of Warsaw; parents, Michael Edward Jones of Goldsboro and Tamatha “Tammy” L. Gurley and husband, Lester of Warsaw; brother, Michael Edward Jones, II of Goldsboro; two step brothers, Corey Alan Gurley and Jamel Wilson of Warsaw; sister, Holly Lynn Jones of Warsaw; two step sisters, Christina Lea Gurley Gonzalez and husband, Brandon of California and Stephanie Leigh Hall of Princeton. A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church, with burial following the service in Pinecrest Cemetery, NC. Visitation will begin 2:00 p.m., at the church. Mary Armstrong “Ginger” Pate, 76, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC. Mrs. Pate was born August 19, 1942 in Duplin County, NC to the late Eddie Frank Armstrong and Betty Pope Armstrong.
Mrs. Pate is survived by sons, Everette Cecil “Boo” Pate, Jr. and wife, Rebecca and Kenneth Earl “Brove” Pate and wife, Dee all of Turkey, NC; four grandchildren, Nicholas Colby Pate, Timothy Ryan Pate, Jason Earl Pate, and Jonathan Ryan Pate and wife, Katie; and one great granddaughter, Gracelynn Aubrey Pate. She is also survived by brother, William “Buddy” Dempsey Armstrong of Warsaw and sisters, Betty Lou “Pig” Byrd of Turkey, Nell Carter of Bowden, and Doris Lee of Warsaw. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pate was preceded in death by husband, Everette Cecil Pate and sister, Elizabeth "Sally" Armstrong Haney. A funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw, visitation will follow the service.
