Warsaw - Gloria Jean McGee Cavenaugh, 76, passed away March 24, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Cavenaugh was born September 26, 1943 in Sampson County, NC to the late Dewey McGee and Eunice Quinn McGee. A private funeral service and burial will be held due to federal mandate concerning COVID 19. Mrs. Cavenaugh is survived son, Mike Cavenaugh and wife, Kim of Warsaw; daughters, Robin Matthis and husband, Don and Rhonda Tatum and husband, Mark all of Clinton; six grandchildren, Melissa Sarner and husband, Jonathan, Sara Thornton and husband, Brent, James Matthis and wife, Lesley, Amberly Howell and husband, Josh, Paige Tatum, Meredith Tatum; ten great- grandchildren, Mackensie Sarner, Nathan Sarner, Lily Sarner, Rylan Thornton, Savannah Thornton, Avett Matthis, Myles Matthis, Ben Matthis Caroline Howell, and Luke Howell. She is also survived by two brothers, Tommy McGee of Kinston and Jimmy McGee and wife, Jeanette of Four Oaks and sister, Janet Anderson and husband, Tim of Clinton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Edward Cavenaugh. Warsaw - Leola Bullard Best, 84, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, NC. Mrs. Best was born July 15, 1935 in Columbus County, NC to the late Buck H. Bullard, Jr. and Ora Mae Ward Bullard. Mrs. Best is survived by son, Jimmy Best of Warsaw; daughters, Patricia Bryant and husband, Dayton of Stedman, Betty Hobson and husband, John of Warsaw; seven grandchildren, Jessica Hayes and husband, Randy, Amy Andersen and husband, Aaron, Beverly Herring and husband, Jonathan, Michael Melendez and wife, Emily, Sarah Melendez and Kevin Carney, Clayton Bryant, and wife, Shea, David Melendez and Dylan Bryant; and eight great grandchildren, Zoey Hayes, Zachary Hayes, Zella Hayes, Zander Hayes, Amelia Andersen, Alan Andersen, Andy Andersen, and Lane Herring. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Best was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Best, and sister, Sarah Jean Bullard. A private funeral service and burial will be conducted. Kenansville - Susie Lee Williamson Dunn, 90, died Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, NC. Mrs. Dunn was born October 28, 1929 in Duplin County, NC to the late Benjamin Bowden Williamson, Sr. and Ima Lee Whaley Williamson.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2020 in Community Funeral Home Chapel with burial following the service in Devotional Gardens. Warsaw-Sylvia Faye Rogers Frederick, 74, of Warsaw passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Vidant Duplin. Sylvia was born April 3, 1945 in Sampson County to the late Bruce Rogers and Maggie Swinson Rogers.
