Tula Mae Whitaker Elvin, 65 passed away on Sunday, January 17th, 2021 at her home in Warsaw, NC surrounded by loved ones. She loved spending time on her porch taking care of the dozens of hummingbirds that returned ever year. Mrs. Elvin was born September 13, 1955 in Waynesboro, PA to the late Emmert and Hilda Grove Whitaker. Tula was an accomplished swimmer and diver while she was growing up in Waynesboro, PA. She was a bright spot in many people’s lives with an infectious smile and positive attitude. Tula graduated from Elizabethtown College with a Bachelor of Science with a focus in Occupational Therapy. Tula was highly skilled and respected in her field of Occupational Therapy. During her 40+ years of being an Occupational Therapist she was able to touch the lives of many children and families in Eastern NC and Pennsylvania. She left a memorable mark on many of the families she loved helping so much. Tula is survived by her son, Ryan Elvin; and his significant other Jessica Luvender, of Greenville, NC. She also left behind her dog and loving companion, Kali. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude’s under Tula Elvin Memorial Fund.
