Magnolia - James Douglas Williams, 70, of Magnolia passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Williams was born February 27, 1953 in Wayne County to the late Wiley Williams and Maggie Whitman Williams. Mr. Williams was a truck driver most of his life being the owner operator for the last 25 years. A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, October 14, 2023 in Devotional Gardens, Warsaw, NC Left to cherish his memory are sons, Dwight Tart (Christy) of Autryville and Douglas Grizzard of Washington; sister, Linda Singletary of Rose Hill; grandchildren, Anna Tart and Mary Tart; special life long friend, Janice Hill; numerous nieces and nephews and special furry friend, PeeWee. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by brothers, John Ivey Williams, Billy Bryan "Joe" Williams, George "Tic" Williams, Wiley Kenneth Williams, Barney Carlton "Buck" Williams and Randy Williams. Doug will always be remembered as a great friend to both myself and my husband, Kyle Johnson. Kyle and Doug were trucking buddies for a long, long time. We will miss his daily calls and meeting up at the truckstops. Doug was the best of friends. R.I.P. our dear friend. 💔

Doug was a wonderful man, I knew him as a trucking client for 20+ years. He was always kind and was a pleasure to work with. He will be missed. RIP my friend.
