Kenansville - Elizabeth Jewel Johnson Torrans Taylor, 84, of Kenansville passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Mrs. Taylor was born in Sampson County March 20, 1934 to the late Amos Johnson and Maggie Edwards Johnson. Mrs. Taylor was the co-founders and President of the Duplin County Association of Retarded Citizens (ARC). A funeral service will be held 4:00pm Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Warsaw Baptist Church with visitation to follow. A private entombment will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Devotional Gardens. Mrs. Taylor is survived by husband, Charles Taylor of Kenansville; daughters, Telza T. Quinn of Warsaw, and Kim Matthis of Mt. Olive; grandchildren, Seth Quinn and wife, Amber, Carmon Short and husband, Eric, Zachary Quinn and Taylor Morrison and husband, Matthew; great grandchildren, Owen Quinn, Preston Short and Quinn Short; sister, Iska Killette of Warsaw and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by first husband, Samuel E. Torrans, daughter, Edwina Torrans; brothers, J. D. Johnson, George M. Johnson, Worth Johnson, Carlos Johnson and Lloyd Johnson; sisters, Doris Warren and Madeline Merritt. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to NC Baptist Men, P. O.
