Billy Ray Best

Warsaw - Billy Ray Best, 72, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Mr. Best was born June 6, 1948 in Duplin County, NC to the late Benjamin Franklin Best and Vina McArthur Best.

Billy was a Vietnam Veteran and proudly served his country in the Army then National Guard until he retired in 2003. He farmed for several years with his dad and also enjoyed gardening, sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and family.

A graveside service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, November 21, 2020 in Devotional Gardens, Warsaw, NC.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Rackley Best of the home; son, Kenneth Best and wife, April of Clinton, NC; two grandchildren, Logan Raye and Libbie Faith Best; brothers, Jerry Lee Best and wife, Carolyn of VA and Danny K. Best and wife, Jan of Faison; and sister, Linda Strickland of Warsaw.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Best was preceded in death by brothers, Jessie Best, and Boyce Best and sisters, Shelby Driver, Marlene Starnes, and Clara Ray Best.
