Salemburg - Benjamin Michael Vernon, 65, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, NC. Mr. Vernon was born July 14, 1958 in Wayne County, NC to the late Paul Edward Vernon and Alma Moore Vernon.
Visitation will begin 11:00 am, Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm, in the funeral home chapel and burial will conclude the service in Devotional Gardens, Warsaw, NC. Mr. Vernon is survived by wife, Laura Vernon of the home; sons, John Michael Vernon of Fayetteville, NC, Jesse James Sheffield and wife, Mariel of Salemburg, NC and Jimmy Darrell Sheffield, Jr. and wife, Amy of Wallace, NC, daughter, Melissa Jane Tibby of Salemburg, NC, brother, Stevie Vernon, sister, Judy Kay Vernon of Salemburg, eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild. In addition to his parents, Mr. Vernon was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Levi Vernon and Billy Daniel Vernon.

My love and prayers are with you Laura. Ben was an absolute joy to be around every time I saw him I knew I’d be treated to loving words and acts of kindness. The three of us joked and laughed a lot over the years, I appreciate every second I was able the be in Bens presence. Know that he is pain free and at peace. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
