Clara Lee Kornegay Copeland

Clara Lee Kornegay Copeland, 75, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at ECU Health Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, NC.  Clara was born February 4, 1951 in Wayne County, NC to the late Major and Clara Foss Kornegay. 

A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 290 Revelle Road, Warsaw, NC 

Clara is survived by daughter, Tammy Brown of Warsaw; son, Jonathan Brown of Warsaw; grandchildren, Amy Townsend and husband, Bradley, Joshua Lassiter and wife, Ashleigh, and William Dave Brown; great grandchildren, Kylie Townsend, Ellie and Kathryn Lassiter; brothers, Ronnie Elton Kornegay, Leon Joseph Kornegay, and Johnny Kornegay; sisters, Annie Ruth Hall and Teresa Harper.
In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death brothers, Roy Kornegay, Major Allen Kornegay, David Ray Kornegay, William Earl Kornegay, Melvin James Kornegay and sisters, Joyce Kornegay, Florine Kornegay, and Lucille Harrell.
