Magnolia - Sallie Catherine Quinn Whaley, 84, of Magnolia passed away Monday, November 24, 2025 at her home. Sallie was born June 29, 1941 in Duplin County to the late Henry Hadnal Quinn and Minnie Dunn Quinn. Sallie was a hard working farmer along with her parents and her brothers. In later years Sallie worked at the grocery store where she always met you with a smile and was willing to help. A visitation will be held from 7 to 9 pm Friday, November 28, 2025 at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, November 29, 2025 at Community Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Quinn Family Cemetery off J. B. Stroud Rd. Sallie is survived by daughters, Minnie Toler and husband, Gary of Wallace, Jane Thomas of Wilmington, Joni Canady and Regina Whaley of Selma; son, Jeffrey Elliott of Wake Forest; grandchildren Matthew Updike, Ethan Jones, Jessica Thomas, Sam Thomas and Mary Reid; great grandchildren, Ryann Jones, Malachi Thomas, Naomi Toledo, Layla Reid, Isaiah Reid, Jonah Thomas and David Reid; great-great grandchild, Lylah Carmichael and numerous nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, Sallie was also preceded in death by husband, Gilmer Harold Whaley, son-in-law, Leon Thomas and brothers, William and Louis Quinn.

Kenansville - Charles Lee Bristow, 74, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Kenansville Health and Rehab. Charles was born September 4, 1951 in Laurinburg, NC to the late Archie Franklin and Evelyn Adcock Bristow. Charles is survived by wife, Linda Kay Rogers Bristow of Kenansville; sisters-in-law Kelli Bristow of Fort Wayne, IN Esther Pate of Kenansville, Sandra Rogers of Kenansville, Mary Catherine Leary of Wilmington; brother-in-law, Delmar Rogers and wife, Pat of Elizabethtown; mother-in-law, Bertha Mae Rogers of Kenansville, nieces and nephews, Bree and Michael Bristow, Amy Rogers, Joni Usher, Tracy Rogers, Jamie Rogers, Kenny, David, and Daniel Leary, and Kaye P. Griffin; great nephew, Holden Bristow. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by brother Archie Franklin Bristow, Jr. Visitation will begin at 10 am, Saturday December 6, 2025 at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw and a memorial service will follow at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Michael Wendell Anderson, 64, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at his home surrounded by friends and family. Mr. Anderson was born October 19, 1961 in Wayne County, NC to Adell Gurley Anderson and the late Leonard Anderson. Mr. Anderson enjoyed playing piano, of which he did for his church for many years, as well as sing. He was a member of the Warsaw Seesaws Square Dance group for many years. He was also a loving Papa to all his grandchildren. He was also a veteran and his country was always close to his heart. Mr. Anderson is survived by wife, Mary Nichols Anderson of the home; mother, Adell Gurley Anderson; sisters, Connie Draughon and husband, Steve of Warsaw and Brenda Brucker and husband, Fred of PA and Warsaw; one brother, Don Simmons and wife, Belinda of Fayetteville; one daughter, Jamie Bonner and husband, Ben of Texas; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, special nieces and nephews and cousins, 1 special cousin Evelyn West of Faison along with her great-granddaughter, Aiyana Holloman Jacobs. He is also survived by three close friends, Heidi Madrid, Nathan Parrish, and Cynthia Madrid and his fur babies, Mr. Wiggles, Cocoa and Gunner. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his dad, Leonard Anderson, and a daughter, Kathy Garcia. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Community Funeral Home Chapel of Warsaw. Entombment will follow at 2:00 pm at Wayne Memorial Park In Goldsboro. Pine Street, Warsaw, NC 28398. Faison-Jarvis Lane Anderson, 83, of Faison passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Mr. Anderson was born in Duplin County October 24, 1942 to the late Flonnie Mae Hobbs Anderson DeLuca and Harry Lane Anderson. A funeral service will be held 12:00 Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Community Funeral Home Chapel of Warsaw, followed by burial at the Faison Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 11:00am at Community Funeral Home. Mr. Anderson is survived by daughters, Mary Faye Lindsay and Bennett Harrell of Wilmington and Jenny Lane Roberts of Greenville; five grandchildren, Ashley Lindsay Fly, Savannah Barfield Ivey, Morgan Barfield Craig, Joshua Cyler Barfield, Hannah Grace Roberts; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Anderson DeLuca, Gloria DeLuca Whaley, Barbara DeLuca Jackson and Rose DeLuca Blanchard, brothers, James DeLuca, Jr., and Mike DeLuca. Jarvis was a tradesman and outdoorsman. He farmed fishing worms for many years and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed fishing with both of his grandsons. Jarvis enjoyed frequent visits with his grandchildren, friends, neighbors, and family. He could be spotted in his gold Toyota during his “loafing” hours. He gave his life to the Lord and attended Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church regularly. There, and anywhere else, he passed out peppermint candies to anyone he saw.
