William Henry Vann “Billy” Holland, 79, passed away peacefully at his home July 30, 2024. He was born January 27, 1945 in Duplin County, NC to the late Otha Lee and Hazel Claire Jones Holland. Billy was a devoted loving husband and father, a proud doting grandfather, a hardworking farmer, and one of the owner of Community Funeral Home of Warsaw Inc. Billy is survived by his devoted wife, Rachel P. Holland of the home; two beloved children, William V. Holland and wife, Ashley of Kenansville and Courtney L. Holland of Kenansville; and five grandchildren, Raven Lee Holland, Jaylen and Brayden Tyner, Audrey E. Kirby and children, Arianna and Oliver and Josh Edwards. He is also survived by brother, Edward Lee Holland and wife, Shirley of Hampstead, sister, Patricia H. Haddad of Olney, MD, sister-in-law, Shelva Jean Brock of Kenansville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother-in-law, John Haddad. A funeral service will be held 7:00pm, Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw with visitation following the service. A graveside will be held 10:00am, Friday, August 2, 2024 in the Holland Family Farm Cemetery, Wards Bridge Road, Kenansville, NC. Warsaw - Susan Lynn Grice, 63, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at her home. Susan was born May 19, 1961 in Duplin County, NC to Max Arnold Grice and Peggy Taylor Grice. A visitation will be held 1:00pm, Friday, July 5, 2024 at Warsaw Baptist Church in the Lady's Parlor and a funeral service will follow at 2:00pm in the church sanctuary. Susan is survived by loving parents, Max and Peggy Grice; aunts, Rebecca Turner, Nancy Gilbert, Linda Grice; uncles Virgil Taylor, Dr. Drew Grice and many cousins and precious friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Rachel Faye Autry. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Warsaw Baptist Church, 209 E. College Street, Warsaw, NC. Mr. Kent Kornegay Carlton, 62, of 325 Cornwallis Rd, Turkey, NC, passed way Monday June 24, 2024 at his home. Mr. Carlton was born December 15, 1961 to Bruce and Dixie Carlton. He was a 1981 graduate of Harrells Christian Academy and a graduate of Atlantic Christian College now Barton College. He worked as a farmer for many years and then as a truck driver for a while. In high school he excelled in football and basketball. He enjoyed golf and was at least better than his older brother. In his later years, he enjoyed riding his moped around West Warsaw, Turkey and the back roads. He was seen and known by many. He was preceded in death by his parents William Bruce Carlton and Dixie Kornegay Carlton of Carrolls Road Warsaw. He is survived by three brothers William Bruce Carlton of North Myrtle Beach SC, Robert W Carlton of Charlotte NC and Willard L Carlton of Waxhaw NC. He is also survived by cousinsRosemary Blackburn Peterson of Bethesda MD, Bill Kornegay of Warsaw NC, Scottie Bartley of Kansas City KS and Lane Prather of St Louis MO A brief memorial service will be held at the family home at 292 Carrolls Rd, Warsaw, NC at 2pm Saturday July 6, 2024 followed by burial at Devotional Gardens |
